About Bravo Charlie

Why the name?

1. People find it remarkable ( in the Seth Godin sense).
2. We like aviation, M*A*S*H and phonetics.
3. It keeps us up-front in trade show listings

Bravo Charlie

Founded in January 2009 by Philip Bateman, Bravo Charlie have worked with investor groups, startups, SME’s, large corporate, ASX listed companies, educational institutions and government in Australasia, Europe, North America and the UAE.

Through experience the company and those that work with it are firmly committed to the fact that the principles underpinning business growth are similar for established companies, startups, independent musicians, not-for-profit activists and large brands alike – to use research and proven methodology to understand a market, to explore and align the vision of the team and executive through in-person interaction, then to tell good stories that educate, empower and inspire a target audience, distributed and focused using cutting edge data tools and software.

1.  The web is important.  Art and truth are important.  Combining these elements creates genuine, world changing impact.
2.  Together, we can tell stories that matter, about who you are and why you do what you do.  This will beat a product placement day or night.

Since 2012, Bravo Charlie have been Tailored Advisory Service providers for Australian businesses, via the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme for the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.

In February 2017, we joined the ICT Services Panel for the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, in the areas of Enterprise, Information and Application Architecture, Web, Audio Visual and Video services.

As of June 2018, Bravo Charlie has been appointed to offer Victorian Government Boost Your Business grants of up to $50,000 in matched spending, in the areas of Advanced Manufacturing, Defence, Aerospace and Security.

It takes a team (of consultants)

The pace of the modern world requires specialists in many domains, and the advancement of technology means we can bring together some of the very best at a moments notice.

Having worked in the Melbourne Business consulting and film industries for over 10 years, our available talent pool runs deep, from award winning documentary film makers that have stared down the lens and held fast as Japanese whaling ships charged their boat in the Antarctic, to Hollywood crew that have operated the technology behind more films than you could name.

Generally everything you see published to the web associated with Bravo Charlie has gone through the hands of a strategy consultant, content director, multiple camera operators, graphic designers, editors, transcribers, proof readers, audio engineers, quality control checks, a client liaison and then a content distribution manager.

Using a mix of Jira, Confluence, Trello, Slack, Whatsapp, Wechat and online content platforms, we are able to co-ordinate teams from Australia to Germany, Italy to North America, Israel to South Africa, China and Hong Kong – and it all works quite well 🙂

Zoë Amanda Wilson  – Quality control, actress and stunts

First working with Bravo Charlie in 2014, Zoë primarily brings her keen eye and love for literature to our interview captioning, ensuring that every word on screen meticulously matches the intention of our clients.

In front of the lens, she is known by millions around the world as a lead actress in the Juice Media’s popular satirical web series Honest Government Ads.

Her career in the performing arts started with muscial theatre and a relevant bachelor degrees, moving to the screen and appearing in such roles as the pleasingly-named Kitty/Floating Corpse in Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Jacquie Delice in the independent feature The Waiting Game.

With skills in gymnastics, circus, motorcycling, roping and sailing, it was a natural progression for Zoë to get involved in stunts, achieving her MEAA stunt grading in 2010 and going on to work on many Australian TV shows and movies including Tomorrow when the War Began, ANZAC Girls, House Husbands, Neighbours, and Upper Middle Bogan.

If you’ve seen a tiny brunette doing something dangerous on TV, there’s a good chance it was Zoë.

Recently completing an intensive acting course with Margie Haber Studios in West Hollywood and a solo motorcycle journey through 31 states of the USA, her stunt prowess has led her to be drowned in lakes and punched in the face everywhere from Kalgoorlie to Fiji in productions including Lambs of God, Whistleblower, Miss Fisher’s Crypt of Tears, Upright and many others.  Find out more via her website.
